I’m going for grad school because I want to get the opportunity to be a manager. Since I didn’t come from one of the business fields, (sales, marketing, finance/accounting), and came from engineering instead, there’s no promotion path for me.
But it seems pretty hard to get into grad school (besides joke grad schools like U Phoenix) in the first place. It almost feels like the college admissions council gets to decide whether I can become a manager more than the people at any job I’m at.

Hi all, I am a senior in high school and next year I will be attending Ohio State University. I am uncertain of what major would fit me the best. Since I do not fully know about each one, I figured I could possibly get some help on here on which might suit me better. I will at least go to college for 4 years, possibly 6. What I want more than anything is a job paying over 100k a year in Manhattan where I work in a building-office type setting wearing a suit everyday. My main interests are computers and business. I find myself to be very good and fast with numbers, but when it comes to really in-depth math and science, I am not so good. I have been recently working on my communication skills and plan to improve them through college. Two majors I have been looking into are finance and computer science. Like I said before, I do not know everything about either so I would like to hear what you think would be the best for me.

I’m married with a small child and my income is needed. I just lost my job (again) and think that going to college and getting my degree will help, but barely survive with both incomes and can’t afford to lose that money coming in. I want to know, if I’m a full time college student, is it possible for me to use financing I receive to help my bills as well (like housing and my car, daycare, etc)?

I need to pick between a real estate internship (with one of the largest commerical real estate firms in the United States, based in Los Angeles, or a finance internship. What makes more money in the job market after college? What would you pick if you had to choose, and both interested you equally?

I lost my job with Halliburton Energy Services through an industrial accident. I have two years left in med school from the early 80s. I am afraid to lose my mortgage and everything that I have worked for to provide for my family. Are there any programs or contibutors that help with living costs and expenses? The nearest med school to me is UNM in Albq. NM. 200+ miles away from me. Any one has a solution or advise, please write to me at latinchili@yahoo.com. Thanks.

I am currently going to The University Of Toledo, which i know isn’t a top tier college but i plan on going to a top tier grad school once i graduate from there. I am majoring in finance. I was just curious if that was a good major, because i hear people say they dont make a lot of money and its hard to get a job. I do plan on going to grad school possibly at Michigan. Also is accounting a better major or not? Thanks

I would like to work finance/accounting after college. But my University only offers degrees in Management Science and Economics. I’m leaning towards doing Economics. I was wondering if it was possible to get a job working either finance or accounting with an Econ degree?
Also.. a lot of jobs prefer majors that involve business, financing, or accounting.
Would a degree in Economics fall under those categories?
ANY help would be MUCH appreciated… Thanks!
