What company can I work for in LA that will pay for my college education?

Monday, August 29th, 2011

I want to go to college @ Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA but it’s quite expensive. I have applied for loans, grants, scholarships etc. But still don’t have enough finances to attend the institute. I am looking for a company that will pay for my tuition or @ least pay a portion of it. The school is for audio engineering, and music business! Thanx

What kind of financial aid is available to me when my college won't give me any?

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

My EFC is 8580 which means that my parents to pay 8,580 of my finances and my university won’t give me any financial aid. Is there any kind of outside scholarships grants or loans outside of the college that that I can take out to pay for it all because if I can’t my parents are going to be broke or i’ll just go to community college.

College financing and social life. Your opinions, please?

Friday, May 20th, 2011

I’m currently in college. I’m 18 and have been working since I was 15. I actually attend a community college because I can’t afford anything else and I won’t be able to pay for a Bachelor’s degree with my pay when the time comes to transfer. I’m going to be working all summer at 40+ hours a week doing 3 jobs to be able to pay for school. The only thing is that I reeeeeallly want to leave home and live in a dorm, but I’m stuck living at home. I feel like I’ll miss a lot if I don’t move away to college and live at home. I have friends, but they’re all from my work place, so we’re not close. It’s almost impossible to make friends at community college. I don’t have a boyfriend, and sometimes I feel like I won’t ever find a guy that likes me, and I like him, unless I leave home and live on a campus. The problem is that I can’t get any loans because I’m apparently not old enough to get a loan, I’m under 24. My parents make a lot of money, but they can’t help me because they’re in sooooo much debt. I can’t get any scholarships because I’m white girl, just like tons of other poor college students. What do you suggest?

What are some good ways to finance college?

Sunday, March 6th, 2011

I really don’t want to resort to getting loans so that’s out of the question. I do have a part time (I just started though) and I’m trying to get my hands on some scholarships but if I don’t manage to, what are some other ways to pay. The college I’ve been accepted to asks for about 22G a year.

College financing (FAFSA, etc) help?

Sunday, January 30th, 2011

I’m 17, graduating high school a year early, got accepted to my school of choice (which happens to be out of state) and I’m ready… Except my father (who has custody) will not support me going out of state, I’m taking two years in one for school so I can’t work full-time (which is required to be emancipated) and am not married or in the military, so I have to claim dependency on the FAFSA and that will then ask for an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that is far out of my reach.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is there something else that will allow me to be able to pay for this? I know there are programs in place to help you get an education even in awkward situations. I know I will go into debt to go to school and I’m okay with that, but I’d like to make that debt as little as possible and actually make the loans available to me.

Any suggestions?

Financing a community college education?

Friday, October 8th, 2010

My boyfriend still has no idea what he wants to do as a career at 21 and he’s been out of school for four years. Currently, he is working as an electronics clerk in a department store. I’m trying to help him get started with community college. The only problem is that he doesn’t have much money to go to school. I am starting study at a university this fall, and my education is mostly funded by grants I received from my school and loans offered from filling out my FAFSA. Is a community college education funded the same way?

Now, if we did manage to get the money for him to start school, what kind of classes should he take? As I said before, he has no idea what he wants to do. Is there a general education degree he can receive? He didn’t do that well in high school and never took the SAT’s, would that be a problem?

What if my parents don't finance my loan for college?

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

My parents are divorced and I live with my dad and at times he sometimes says that when I need help getting into college he won’t finance my loan or sign any papers for me. If he really meant this and wasn’t threatening me then what would I do if this really happened? I can’t get loans for college without his consent? And if he doesn’t consent could I see a lawyer or such to demand his consent? If not, then I won’t be going to college?

How can I finance a college education?

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

I am currently on my 2nd year at a local college. I commute to school and live at home so it does save money. But for my next two years, I would like to finish at a larger university. This will be more expensive, however, considering the fact that these schools are farther away and would require expenses for housing. I am not in a position with a lot of money and I would like to know if there are any ways that I can get loans and aid to cover the whole expenses? If so, how?
I know about scholarships, and grants. BUT CAN LOANS COVER THE WHOLE TUITION?
