I’ve just graduated High School, and have goals to eventually go to college. I’ve first applied to the US Coast Guard for two years, because I need extra money and help from the USCG to go to my desired college. I have some money, and my parents have some money, to help pay with my college, but it’s not enough. The college I wish to attend is fairly expensive, (Well, extremely. It’s around 50,000 a year, including all room, board, and meal plans.) and I am willing to look at other colleges if this is just too much, but I’ve always had my heart set on this school. My question is, am I overlooking any ways to get college help? Does anyone know how much the USCG assists with college finances after I end my term? Thank you for any help whatsoever, please give any ideas I’ve overlooked! Thank you!

Sunday, June 12th, 2011im confused about how much this college will cost me
from my financial aid awards letter i got:
The college website said that the tuition is ,955
Fall Term-,517
Winter Term-,518
Spring Term- ,515

College financing and social life. Your opinions, please?
Friday, May 20th, 2011I’m currently in college. I’m 18 and have been working since I was 15. I actually attend a community college because I can’t afford anything else and I won’t be able to pay for a Bachelor’s degree with my pay when the time comes to transfer. I’m going to be working all summer at 40+ hours a week doing 3 jobs to be able to pay for school. The only thing is that I reeeeeallly want to leave home and live in a dorm, but I’m stuck living at home. I feel like I’ll miss a lot if I don’t move away to college and live at home. I have friends, but they’re all from my work place, so we’re not close. It’s almost impossible to make friends at community college. I don’t have a boyfriend, and sometimes I feel like I won’t ever find a guy that likes me, and I like him, unless I leave home and live on a campus. The problem is that I can’t get any loans because I’m apparently not old enough to get a loan, I’m under 24. My parents make a lot of money, but they can’t help me because they’re in sooooo much debt. I can’t get any scholarships because I’m white girl, just like tons of other poor college students. What do you suggest?

How Do I Save Money For College?
Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011I am 14 years old, and I am going to turn 15 in August. I plan to go to The Wharton School Of Finance, which is a very expensive college. Very recently, my family has been struck with very hard financial situations. My parents are divorced and I live with my mother. The IRS is now going after my father for not doing his taxes for the past three or so years.
My father might have to give up his 401 K to pay off the debt- about ,000. That was my college money. My mom will soon be getting a second job just to keep a roof over our heads- as my father can no longer promise child support.
I plan to get a job as soon as I turn 15, and work as much as I can. During the summers, I plan to work two jobs to help me pay for college. So what can I do? How can I save money? What are some things that I can do now, that will help me in the future? Thanks.
